Shock horror here in France as the French team's Euro 2016 anthem is a song in English!
Andre Vallini, the French Minister Development and Francophonie, said choosing a song in English was “incomprehensible”.
“Euro 2016 will be a great festival of sport which is taking place in France and will therefore project the image of our country abroad. And our language too!”
He added that, “it is therefore incomprehensible that the anthem of the French national team should be in English."
Well, at least the song is a cover sung by a French band, Skip the Use. (A French band with an English name no less!) And the singer even does quite a good British accent while he's singing.
Here's a little listening exercise for you: Listen to the Skip the Use version of the song while you read the original lyrics by KISS and try to find are any words that have been changed.
